Under The Christmas Tree
9:45 pm, silence hushed through the hall,
While all the children in the house giggled and laughed,
Their eyes, gleaming with excitement, they hid under their sheets,
The clock ticked to midnight, as they munched some sweet calories.
“Thud thud”, they heard distant footsteps down the hall,
Glee rushed through their eager hearts, as they peeped along the well-lit wall.
They saw a shadow, someone huge and tall,
They knew it was Santa with his magic key, visiting, to surprise them all.
Tiny jingle bells swayed to the swishing wind,
As glitters on the snow danced to the sky,
Their jaws dropped, everything seemed like a fairy tale never seen.
Under the Christmas tree, Santa would fulfill their dreams!
